Safe Haven horses receive their FLU VACCINE!

Saturday, 1/30/10 was a busy one! Safe Haven Horse Rescue was able to administer Flu Vaccine to all of our horses, due to the AWESOME GENEROSITY of YOU ALL!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! It's little MiniMe's turn & she said at this point; "I's not moving any farther! you can push on my butt 'till you lift it in the air BUT, I's got my front feet planted & I's Not Moving!!!" So since we couldn't get her any further, we gave her the vaccine, right where she had taken her stance!!!

Since was such a good girl she got a cookie for a reward!

Of course, just as Dr. Marta came out to help, it started to rain!!!!! Dr. Marta is meeting Owen, a T/B, w/ a 'sore' tendon, that is much better, cuz Bonnie has him under her wing too!! She LOVES her T/B's!!!!! I love the rain drop prisms in this pic!!!

Poor T/B, Rummy said "WHAT! WHAT! YOU WANNA DO WHAT!"
After a few minutes, Rummy settled down & the vaccine was given!

It's amazing the horses, you think you will have a big problem with, sometimes surprise you, & take their medicine like a Mare!!!! This is Tracey's adopted Appy, Bailey. She is a kill pen rescue.

Sweet ole Denny, says; "Oh no you don't! I'm much taller than you two!!!!"

After a minute, she settled down, & let Linda R. give her the nasal vaccine!!!! Denny did have alot to say about all this!She said " whooo! ickyyyyyy, yukkkyyy,, it makes my lips lift up!!!!!"
Denny, is telling me, to tell YOU ALL; THANK YOU! for caring about ME! & for helping to buy all the vaccines, for me & all my equine friends!!! DENNY SAYS; "YOU ALL......ROCK!!!!

Seriously, SAFE HAVEN HORSE RESCUE, is Overwhelmed by all the support shown to our horses, & would like to say THANK YOU AGAIN & AGAIN!!!! We couldn't have done this without your support! THANK YOU, TO ALL NEAR & FAR, WHO HAVE SENT IN THEIR DONATIONS!

Safe Haven Playday Oct 4th 09 pictures

SAFE HAVEN HORSE RESCUE had another great Playday!! we would like to THANK each & everyone that came out to support the horses!!! :) These are the pics that I took w/ my phone! This is the beginner class in the arena. We had 5 divisions for the Playday....Lead line, beginner, intermediate, advanced, & over 35......! The over 35 group really liked NOT having to compete against the kids.....so that is a 'for sure' div. from now on!!!! There will be alot more pics from the gals in the arena......they'll be ''closer" shots of all the action!!!! Chris (my daughter)is having a ride on Val. Even Moms, need a little horsey time!

The COSTUME class, really happy that I didn't have to choose the winner!!!!!!! The gal on the far right w/ the orange hair, was a mermaid, w/ waves on her horse!!!!! She took first place! Really cute!

LOOK, who showed up at the Playday!!!!! Sondra!!!!!! whooooohoooo......she is one of the MOST DEDICATED, Safe Haven volunteers, we have. She is also 'shy' so we only got her there amongst all those peoples.....cuz.... we told she had to come see 'her horse's twin' Sondra sponsors Pepper, a black & white paint, that is just gorgeous, & our buddy, Denise has a gelding that looks just like her! (I know pics of the 2 of them would be perfect here,,,,,but no such luck!)

Lindsey, & her parents 'foster' horses for Safe Haven, is now having a little ride on Val!!!!! He was such a good boy!!!!

My friends, Pam & Bill w/ daughter Nichol, came out to watch the fun, so we put Nichol up on Val, as this is the first time EVER for Nichol to be on a horse!!!!
