Ginger! When you gonna have that baby?????
Ginger, was in the arena on Sat. for some exercise, That she wasn't do much of........until, her pal Rumtata, showed up!!!
Rummy decided that the two of them should play 'keep away' from Kathy & Steve!!!! Prego Ginger was 'hoofing it' pretty darn good there for awhile!!! But she is, as they say, 'ready to pop'! So we didn't want her to run too much!!!!
Finally, they gave up! & Steve brought Ginger out, & Kathy took Rummy to the hitching post for grooming. Ginger is a 'kill pen' rescue from Shirley Puga, & a few posts back, we told how Steve (Safe Haven's Horse Transporter) & Marlene, (Shirley's Horse Transporter) had to find out the hard way that Ginger was not halter broke, & DID NOT KNOW how to lead!!! So they backed her from Marlene's trailer into Steve's trailer! Steve says she road backwards the whole way home!!! Our little prego girl is back to her old tricks & doesn't want to go forward!!!! So Tracey, our Appy aficionado, is trying to lure her forward w/ a bucket!!! BUT Ginger says if there was sumptin' in that bucket, I might consider it!!! LOL!
Steve now decides to try the old standard & back her in!!!! Not working so well either!!!!!!!
So Bonnie joined in, to help. & finally with the two of them they succeeded in getting back in her pen!
Steve is 'camping' out in his trailer this week, so he can keep an eye on Ginger &&& the other mare we have that is pregnant!!! Mello, a quarter pony, blue eyed, cremello/palomino paint! I'll do a blog on Mello soon! She's a cutie & very popular w/ My Granddaughter, Lydia, & Safe Haven Sponsors & Volunteers!!!

New Horse's at Safe Haven Horse Rescue
Barbi
Blaze Charley

Blaze Charley

We have gotten in a few new horse's.

The newest arrival is Sonny. He is a really nice red dun QH gelding.
The one before him is Leroy he is the paint that ain't. He is a really nice reg. APHA gelding with no paint color. He is a really pretty Sorrel. He is a very sweet boy.
He does have some ringbone in one of his front feet. But will be fine with our joint supplement.
We also have a nice Arabian gelding that we named Lucky Blaze. Because he is lucky to be alive.
He was rescued out of a kill pen with 8 other horse's that were going to slaughter from a auction in Nevada.
He came into Safe Haven Horse Rescue very underweight and with a really bad upper respiratory infection. He has been on medicine since he has been with us. Our vet has seen him and says he is on the road to recovery.
He has put some weight on, but not much, as he has been fighting his cold.
He is very sweet, he was very scared when he came in. Just not sure of what was going on.
Blaze has really settled in now and trusts us so much more now.
He is even talking a lot more now when he See's us and when it's feeding time.
We also got Barbi and Charley in from southern Ca.
Barbi is a really nice paint mare. She is coming along very nicely.
Charley is a gaited paint gelding. We are not sure what breed he is. But he is a very smooth ride.
