Delta Dawn in the arena on Sat. 10/03/09

LOOK.......at this.......MARE, w/ the HEART of a STALLION!!!!!!! YES, that is OUR...... DELTA DAWN!!!! She had a real good roll too, but I missed it! DANG :/ She stop for a little drink of water, & to say Hi, to Debbie, && to stick her tongue out!!!!!

Delta Dawn would follow Bonnie down the arena, &&&&&&& then she'd trot right back up!!!!! She even was so 'frisky' as to BUCK once (missed that one too) :/

She's still very skinny buttttt, she gonna be a 'pistol'!!!!! After watching her run, Bonnie & Linda R. think that maybe the ankle on her bad leg is fused! :/ We'll investigate further & let you all know.

After, the rolling, & the running, our Diva needed a little TLC. So, Bonnie & Sandy obliged her w/ some brushing.

Welcome to the world.....BABY GIRL!!!!

WELCOME, TO; LITTLE.......... MINIME!............. She arrived about noon today, OCT. 6th 2009! Steady there......... little one. She is soooo...little that I actually was holding her in my arms!!!! Cori has those pics!!

Tootsie......you're a MOM!!! Linda R. is keeping a close eye on Tootsie, as she is a little 'crampy', so Linda called the vet, & he advised to give some banamine for the cramps.

I've bought stuffed toys that are bigger than Minime!

Minime is having a snack. This is Tootsie's first baby, and she is doing all the right Mom moves!!

Safe Haven Playday Oct 4th 09 pictures

SAFE HAVEN HORSE RESCUE had another great Playday!! we would like to THANK each & everyone that came out to support the horses!!! :) These are the pics that I took w/ my phone! This is the beginner class in the arena. We had 5 divisions for the Playday....Lead line, beginner, intermediate, advanced, & over 35......! The over 35 group really liked NOT having to compete against the kids.....so that is a 'for sure' div. from now on!!!! There will be alot more pics from the gals in the arena......they'll be ''closer" shots of all the action!!!! Chris (my daughter)is having a ride on Val. Even Moms, need a little horsey time!

The COSTUME class, really happy that I didn't have to choose the winner!!!!!!! The gal on the far right w/ the orange hair, was a mermaid, w/ waves on her horse!!!!! She took first place! Really cute!

LOOK, who showed up at the Playday!!!!! Sondra!!!!!! whooooohoooo......she is one of the MOST DEDICATED, Safe Haven volunteers, we have. She is also 'shy' so we only got her there amongst all those peoples.....cuz.... we told she had to come see 'her horse's twin' Sondra sponsors Pepper, a black & white paint, that is just gorgeous, & our buddy, Denise has a gelding that looks just like her! (I know pics of the 2 of them would be perfect here,,,,,but no such luck!)

Lindsey, & her parents 'foster' horses for Safe Haven, is now having a little ride on Val!!!!! He was such a good boy!!!!

My friends, Pam & Bill w/ daughter Nichol, came out to watch the fun, so we put Nichol up on Val, as this is the first time EVER for Nichol to be on a horse!!!!

Drifter at Safe Haven's Fall Playday!

SAFE HAVEN'S FALL PLAYDAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!! SAFE HAVEN would like to.... THANK...... EVERYONE...... who came out to support the horses & have fun w/ their own horses!!!There are many more pics to be posted! Linda R. is helping to adjust the saddle for Christa, who is on Drifter! Her mom, Sandy, is there to help also! Drifter came into Safe Haven, needing his right removed......as it had collapsed in it's socket.. :/.....the 'rocking'....... FOB's........ came 'bumping' to the rescue on raising the funds needed for surgery. Drifter, successfully had his surgery & is now a permanent resident at Safe Haven! Drifter told Sandy, that he could use a little snack.....so.......... he shyly stepped up to the snack shack counter......& put in his request!!!!! Can you guess what he wanted??????

That's right!!!!!!!! He ordered a 'carit'!!!!!!! Chris was happy to give drifter his 'carit' ( they were those baby 'carits', so he did get more than one!!!!!

I have many more pics to go thru & to post, but must have more time in the day to get it all ready!!!!!!! THANK YOU, ALL....EVERYBODY......who helps out w/ Safe Haven horses!! YOU........ ALL.......... ROCK!!!!!!!!! :)

Delta Dawn in her new 'BLING'!!!!!!

Delta Dawn tried on her new halter........donated to her by 'Miss Brambles'..(on the Alex Brown Racing forum) :) She looks very nice in red! Delta Dawn & Linda R. are seeing how the halter fits.

Now, Delta Dawn is wearing her new fly mask......w/ the silky ears.......she just loves all her new accessories!!!!!

Delta Dawn says............"I'd like to give all the wonderful FOB's & the others, who care about me..........a smooch"

I have to take the pics of Delta Dawn, quickly.......cuz..she is so NOSEY, that this is what all her pics would be......if she had her way!!!!!! She's always up close & personable....going "Whatcha doin'?"

Delta Dawn waitin' for dinner......

Linda R. put Delta Dawn out in the arena for a walk, just before feeding time Wed. Sept. 30th, but she had no time for a walk! She is too busy watching me, make her dinner!!!!! I love this pic of her face! Look at those very clear eyes!!!! She is definitely focused!!! It's been getting pretty 'chilly' here in No, Cal at nite, so Linda R. dug out a blanket for her. When winter is here, & the rain & winds pick up, we want Delta Dawn to have a blanket that goes up around her neck, as she is so thin, & high withered, that we are afraid that a sore will 'rub' on her, so we're working on getting her one.

Delta Dawn is having her 'awwwww' moment & is eating her 'magic mush' so, she did not have time to stop & pose for pictures!!! This is the best I could get!!! She looks good in blue..doesn't she!
