Fall Play Day! Oct.10, Bobby Jones Arena!

The lead line class is always such fun for the young ones!  This year there will  be 3 Safe Haven Lead Line Contestants!!! Dakota, Lindsy, & Wado! Tracey’s Grand Daughter Lindsey, will trying her hand in the Beginner class!

The event is free for the general public, Please come out & enjoy the day w/ us! The Costume Class is @ 9AM so come & see what imaginations we all have!!!!!

Learning a new system!

Testing! blogger has changed the format of how we upload images! OY VEY! We'll see if I can figure this out or if someone else will have to help me!!!! "/ Ok, I'm pretty much in trouble all ready!!!! Let's see if I can figure out how to get print OFF of Bold! Was that the right button????????? IT SURE WAS!!!  YEAHhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Now! We're gonna see if & where it will upload a picture! Wish me LUCK! Gee, got the image BUT NOT really where I wanted it!!! LOL!
Okay, the pic you are seeing is of Judd. He is an OLDER gelding that needs to have his eye removed! (I guess you can only un-bold once! LOL!  that 'magic' buttton just ain't 'werking' anymore!!!)  All right! It's not nice to mess w/ me like that!!!! Anyhoo back to Judd, He has a tumor behind his eye that is pushing his eyeball out, Linda is putting some soothing eye gel in his eye, to make him more comfortable!!! You can come see & meet Judd @ Safe Haven's Fall Play Day on October 10, 2010 @ The Bobby Jones Arena in Cottonwood. Judd will be there for the lead line class! Hope to see you there!!!!

Safe Haven Horse Rescue's Dinner Guest!

Well, when we were feeding the horses the other night, we noticed we had Company for Dinner! Ya gotta look REAL CLOSE, but on the plywood between the black barrel & the white box, is our Dinner Guest! He was SO enjoying the 'magic mush' mixture that Cherokee was dropping! We're gonna have one Chunky Monkey of a Squirrel, if he keeps that up!!!!

Practicing for the Oct. 10, 2010 PLAYDAY!!!!!!

Cindi is trying out Bobbie Socks, & seeing how well she does on the poles!!!!! Cindi wants to take two horses to Safe Haven's October 10, 2010 PLAY DAY! She has her own mare, but would like to take a Safe Haven horse too!
Looks like Bobbie just might 'fit the bill' as they say!!!! She did awesome on the poles! Cindi was happy! Bobbie had some fun too! Now, let's see the single stake!
Cindi asked her son, Wado to pull another stake out into the arena, & set it up for her. She told him how to do it & where to set it up at! & he is such a trooper that he pulled that heavy stake threw the sand & set it up for his Mom! Good job, Wado!

OK! The equipment is set up & here they come!!!!!
Safe Haven Horse Rescue will be having a 'PLAY DAY' on October 10, 2010, at the Bobby Jones Memorial Arena, here in Cottonwood! This is one of the biggest fundraisers that Safe Haven has, one in the Spring & this one in the fall! Chuck Bartok, from Barns by Harrahs, has agreed to once again be the Stellar Announcer, that he is, for this Play Day! Big THANK YOU goes out to our good buddy Chuck! ")
We will also be having a Costume Class! It is so much fun to see what ideas for costumes, that the participants come up with!!!!! It's amazing what some of those horses allow to be put on them!!!! To ride in the Play Day, it is $35.00 for all day or $5.00 a class, per horse. We will have 5 divisions, lead line, beginners, intermediate, advanced, &&& (my fav) Over 35!!!!
This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC & it is FREE to come WATCH the FUN! You can help support the horses, by having some lunch or goodies from the snack bar, or try your hand at the Raffle Table!!! We have a wonderful array of prizes for this year's Play Day!

Good Golly Cori! Is this really neccesary????????

Linda brought Deena up to one of the hitching posts on Saturday, to 'spiff' her up a bit! I notice there was a good amount of dirt in ole Deena's nose & proceeded to wipe it out! but Deena made such a face, that I asked Cori to do it, so I could capture it on 'my phone'!!!! She is so cute!
& of course, we had to do both sides!!! Deena asked Cori if she was wiping her nose OR trying to pick her brain!!!!
Deena says OK! Enough all ready!!! That's Susan in the background, she came up for a weekend visit!!!! Deena is definitely cracking her up!!!!
Safe Haven Horse Rescue is such a fun & rewarding place! We have horses from Miniature size all the way up to Draft size!!!! So there is JUST the RIGHT HORSE out there for you to LOVE!!!The weather is finally cooling off some, so we will have a few weeks of awesome days to help get everything ready for the coming up winter! Safe Haven is a volunteer based operation & NO ONE gets PAID! All the funds received go directly to the care of the horses! I like to say that Safe Haven's Volunteers; PAY THEIR OWN MONEY TO SCOOP POOP!!!!! & the rewards we reap are in horsey hugs, neighs, & contentment! So next time you need a horse to HUG, come on out to Safe Haven, & you can get about 60 different hugs, all at the same place!!!! Hope to see you there!
