Linda R. has put all 3 of the kill pen rescue horses on the Mush. They are doing wonderfully, and are settling into Safe Haven quite well. Yea! Here we have Barb giving the night time bucket of mush to the Paint mare who is in foal & Yes, she still needs a name!!! |
Sorry, that the next few pics are dark but we were running out of daylight after feeding & putting on nine million blankets! It was going to be in the low 30's in the morning! This is Barb haltering up the Paint mare to see if she will let us put a blanket on her! Wish us luck!
Diane, a faithful volunteer to the horses is also helping to put the blankets on, so Barb is holding & Diane is hefting the blanket up on the mare. This could be a possible rodeo, as we do not know yet what she is used to!
There's Diane, she is hefting the blanket up on the Paint mare. Well, we did not have a rodeo........Yea......The mare was very good & just stood there so we could adjust straps etc.....
This is the black gelding Ebony, he is a real sweetie! Nice & calm, as you can see the lead rope is just resting on his shoulders while his blanket is being adjusted to him! Good Boy, Ebony!!!! The bay mare, Gypsy, also got a blanket but it was just way too dark to get any pics! She was good too, they just keep adding up points on the good side of things, they all are very sweet & will make somebody a very good horse someday! Geeze! I almost forgot......the horses were weighed, Ebony is 732 lbs, Gypsy is 782 lbs, and the Paint mare weighed in at 847 lbs, that also means they have been wormed too! They met Cody, Safe Haven's Farrier and have had their feet done too. We have found out that poor ole Ebony has worn his front teeth done to nothing! So a musher he'll always be! Makes a person wonder what he had to try and eat that would wear his front teeth done so badly. "/
Hope you come out to meet all the horses soon!
Bye for now,
Linda C.
