Ginger will lead FORWARD NOW!

Wow!!!!! Look at this !!!! Ginger is walking forward on a lead rope!!!! These are HUGE steps for this appy mare! She is a horse saved from slaughter, by the equine angel, Shirley Puga. Safe Haven Horse Rescue has helped Shirley out w/ nine horses ( I'm pretty sure) (if I'm wrong it's only because there's more) Tracey has worked really hard to get her use to people touching her, putting on a halter, & now moving forward on a lead rope!!! WhoooooooHooooooo!!!
Tracey is walking Ginger to the arena, so she can run........& have some fun outside of her pen! She had a great time in the arena .......& had a good ole roll.....that always make them happy! Ginger went forward back to her....... pen .....But,,,,,,, alas....she would not walk in FORWARD, into her pen! This pic shows she has her brakes on!!!
Very patiently, Tracey turned her around, & lined up, to back into her pen! Ginger is very pregnant :/ We don't have a 'due date', so we are watching the progression of her milk bag! We want to have her as used to people as possible before she has that baby!

Tracey really had to do some pretty fancy backing up maneuvers to get her lined up w/ her pen!!!! Didn't want her to bump into the pen! That would have been an :O moment!!!

Finally, Ginger is safe & sound in her pen! WHEW!.............. Sense she was such a good girl she got quite a few 'cookies' from the little bucket next to her pen!!!!

Will keep you posted on the progress of our Ginger!
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Drifter's visit w/ Dr. Sutfin

When Dr. Sutfin came out to the ranch to see Delta Dawn, he was also there to check on Drifter's removed eye socket, as it was weeping a puss looking 'stuff', & we were wondering if a 'stitch' was still in there! Dr. Sutfin, is starting to check out the problem w/ his eye, that is after the sedative took affect!

Dr. Sutfin is 'probing' the eye for the any missed stitch......no stitch was left in the eye. Dr. Art did find a problem tho.
He found that Drifter did have a "pocket of puss" up above the eye socket, so he proceeds to open it up to drain! Even tho, Drifter was sedated a little, we still needed him to be still, so there for; the twitch :/ I am taking the pics, so as you can see, we're all real close to Drifter. Poor, Drifter started to LOSE HIS BALANCE, & kind of gave us three, a real good PUSH, right before he caught himself!!! :O....... I hit the barn w/ my left shoulder, dropped my phone :O, & I saw Linda R. get smacked up full back into the barn wall :O & Dr. Art got rolled onto the pile of tarps!!!!!!!!!!!! :O Linda & I (after recovering from the surprise of it all) started to get Drifter to back up. Dave M. came over & grabbed his lead rope & helped him move back, while I pushed on his chest!!!!!!! Talk about a surprise :OOO!!!!!

Now, that we've all recovered, Dave takes over on the twitch, & Dr. Art goes back to cleaning inside above the eye socket.

POOR Drifter, he really said OWEEEEEE.

Dave just can't stand to watch poor Drifter's discomfort! He's Safe Haven big tough gate keeper @ the Playdays, & Linda R. is teasing him about not lookin'! He said "people I can look, but not when it comes to poor animals!!!!!!!! AWE.......

Dave & Dr. Art have everything under control, so Linda goes off to rinse the blood off her face, as she must have got bumped by the twitch!!! She's bleeding by her eye!

Finally the up behind the eye 'stuff' was done! & Drifter is now getting his good eye looked at & Dr Art decides that the tear duct might be clogged on that side too.

SO!!! Now our Drifter gets some 'nasal spray' stuff to help open up the tear duct!!! All this in about 25 minutes!!!!!! No wonder we were all wore out, mentally, emotionally, & physically!

Drifter has been on antibiotics for the last 10 days for his infection. Glad to report that he is much better now! Dr. Art will be back to check on them both, in a couple of weeks, barring any problems!
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Candy, says"Oh yeah that's the spot!"

This is Candy, & Linda R., Cori, Bonnie, & Ryan, all helped in giving her a bath on Sat. Linda R. started scratching her belly, & said watch this!!! Sure enough.......the lips show it all!!!!!! She was a lovin' that belly rub!!!!!! Candy came in with Drifter, who had a bad eye, & needed it to be removed, as it had collapsed. Candy has glaucoma in right eye. She gets aspirin every day to help the pain & pressure. Dr. Sutkin looked at her the other day & said that it really should come out. Here a pic of Candy in the arena right after she came to Safe Haven in May of 09. She has 'scalding' on her face from her eyes running all the time.
Candy also came in under weight.

This is Candy's bad eye up close. She is blind in that eye :[ We put cream on her face to help protect the skin & soothe the 'leathery' skin.

AND...........here is Candy in the arena after her bath!!!! She has put on some weight &&& looks very good now. She's a sweetie & will have her surgery....AFTER...fly season is OVER!

Bye for now,
Linda C.

Magnetic Therapy for Delta Dawn!

Jackie Kitchell, from Health & Wellness Therapies for Horse & Rider, came out on Sat. & worked on Delta Dawn. She started out on Delta Dawn's bad back leg. The vibrating magnet in the little machine sends good pulses all thru the muscles. Delta Dawn, enjoyed the therapy very much, at one point she had her head resting in Linda R's arms!
I was hoping to get that machine used on my shoulders too, Jackie said she helped out the local horse chiropractor, Fred, w/ his left shoulder......she said that after 6 minutes or so, Fred asked her to stop for a minute. Jackie was very concerned & asked was something wrong? Fred said no, I just feel I want to do something! &&&&& he took his arm & put it first, straight up in the air & then straight out in front of him......Fred's wife said that he hasn't been able to do that in six months!!!!

Jackie plans to come out & give Delta Dawn other treatments on a regular basis. Thank You Jackie!

A couple of visitors, out to Safe Haven Horse Rescue, yesterday & who had been out the weekend before, said that they could see that Delta dawn had put on some weight!!!!! Yeah :]]] Since we all see her everyday, it's hard to tell the small improvements!

Jackie is a Safe Haven 'Mom' too, she has adopted a blue roan pony, Huckleberry, & a flea bitten gray, Arabian mare, Sweetie.

Jackie always comes to the Playdays. Always nice to have a chat with her. Jackie's business is located in Red Bluff, you can reach her @ 530-529-3029. Think I'll call & make an appt. for myself !!!!
Bye for now,

Delta Dawn says "Thank You Miss Brambles!"

Dear Miss Brambles, Your very generous gifts of Cocosoya oil & the OCD powder arrived yesterday at Safe Haven. Linda R. & Linda C. put them in my 'mush' for dinner last night & it was very Yummy!

Thank You so very much.
Your horsey friend for life :]
Delta Dawn

Lizzie Anne.....what did you do?

Wow!!!! This is what we saw, when we went to feed Lizzie Anne, last night!!! :/ Our Lizzie Anne had got herself all caught up in the panels of her pen!!!!! She is very smart! as she knew she needed help to get out of her foooopaaaawww! Linda R. & Rick.......came over to help get her legs out!

It took some muscle to get her legs back to her side of the fence! Rusty, the Australian Shepard, is there to help also!! Cinnamon, the Arabian, her neighbor, is pretty concerned too!
Now, Maggie May, the border collie, is checking on all the 'action'! as Linda & Rick have freed her legs & are 'rolling' her over!!!!!

& here is our TA- DAH........moment!!!!! Lizzie Anne is back up on her feet! We checked her all over & she was just fine! Thank Goodness....she was smart enough to know she had to have help! & she never panicked!!!!!

Between Lizzie Anne, & Delta Dawn, we are being put thru our paces!!!! Hope with all my heart.....that today brings no more 'surprises'!!!!!!!!
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Delta Dawn, makes the newspaper & local TV channels!

Delta Dawn, the emaciated mare, @ Safe Haven Horse Rescue, is making quite 'the stir' with the local medias, here in No. Cal. She was featured in the Red Bluff Daily News, newspaper this week, & then Channel 24 - KNVN's reporter, Phil Schmidt interviewed Linda Richards, on Tuesday. Today, KRCR's reporter, Misa Maruyama was at the ranch for an interview. This is how Delta Dawn took the 'news' of her being on tv again!!! All she had to say was; "WHAT!!!!!" That's what I think this pic says anyway. Isn't she just so cute!!!! Dave & Cori came out to the ranch also, we gave each other moral support, poor Linda R. had to face the camera all by herself!!!!! She did an excellent job, by the way!!! Cori had Zipper in the arena for a run, & here he is meeting Misa. He's the biggest horse we have, & is Cori's baby boy!
Misa is at Delta Dawn's pen & is setting up the camera & also calming me & Cori down!!! LOL

Misa was very shocked at Delta Dawn's condition, & we explained to her that Delta Dawn is an ABUSE case, not a by product of the 'economy' as her condition just didn't happen over nite! Someone saw this happening to her, & chose to do NOTHING! for a very long time!

We talked about how long it will take to put the weight back on Delta Dawn, & that she has 'the heart of a stallion' in the WILL, she has to live!!!! That's where I fit in the Fans of Barbaro, in the conversation, as it was an FOB, who first said the phrase! I also talked about Drifter & Josh & a few of the other horses, the FOB's have helped Safe Haven with!

We had quite a pleasant morning with Misa. I am sorry, not to have been able to take pics of Phil, while he was at the ranch. Guess he'll just have to come back again!

Misa decided that she was comfortable enough to actually go into Delta Dawn's pen & give her a few pets. Oh, by the way I delivered............ kisses, skritches, & pats & hugs for everyone :]

Delta Dawn decided that it was her turn to talk into the microphone, & this is what she said "Thank You Everyone, Thank You........ for all the concern you have for me! I can feel the love you are all sending to me.......& I am feeling better, & better every day!" NOW, what's for lunch??????

Hope you enjoy the pics of Delta Dawn & her interview w/ Misa. Safe Haven wants to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped out with Delta Dawn.
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Field trip! Anderson River Park on Labor Day!

A Monday holiday is always fun @ Safe Haven!!!! This last Labor Day they all went to Anderson River Park for a nice relaxing ride. In front, is Linda R. on her horse CJ, & Chrissy, is on Safe Haven's permanent resident, Denny. Bonnie on her adopted beautiful Flower, & Holly on her adopted Lovie. What a nice place for a ride!

Here's Tracey on her adopted appy, Bailey! Bailey was rescued from slaughter by the Equine Angel, Shirley Puga. Tracey went w/ Linda to meet the transport lady, Marlene, & when she saw Bailey come out of the trailer.........well as we say.......she was in horsey love!
Bonnie's Flower, came in to Safe Haven, because she injured her knee in a horse trailer foopaw,,,,,,,Flower ended up w/ a hairline fracture in her knee........& her Dressage career was over :( She was a 3rd level dressage horse. Flower is all healed up now, & Bonnie takes very good care of her girl! Flower is the 'Prima Donna' of Safe Haven!!!!! Holly's Lovie, came to Safe Haven in a very EMACIATED state, she was 400lbs under weight!!!!! :( Lovie has a bond w/ 'her' Holly that is a thing of beauty! They are quite the pair! Flower is a water dog! She puts her head in her water bucket & splashes till most of the water is gone! I call it 'cleaning out her sinuses!

Chrissy, a faithful sponsor, & volunteer, is riding Denny, a beautiful buckskin mare who has been retired to Safe Haven as she has a bone spur in her knee. Denny came from a lady that placed another horse at Safe Haven, Cokie,(who is a whole other story!)

Linda's CJ, had her jaw broke, when she was young :/, it has been repaired & she has no trouble eating. She has a tooth sticking out on one side, kind of like Nanny McFee!!!!!!! She's a very lucky girl!

Whoa Flower where ya going? That's what I think Bonnie is saying, just by looking at this pic! All these horse have a past, but they are still alive & well & living w/ their disabilities!

Hope you enjoyed the beautiful pictures taken on 'the Crews' outing!!!!!
Bye for now.

The Vet, Dr. Art, checking out Delta Dawn

Dr. Art is taking a first look,,,,, all around Delta Dawn. He is checking out her back left leg,,,,,, she has had an injury to that leg, & it hasn't been taken care of! Dr. Sutfin, has prescribed, Dexamethezone, for the swelling, & since it is an anti-inflamatory, it will help her w/ some of the pain. Delta Dawn is too weak to have any pain meds @ the moment, but the 'dexa-stuff' will help,,,,,,alot. Dr. Art, is now checking her teeth, & he figures....she is in her early 20's, & even tho, the gentleman, who found her in one of his horse pens, had all ready floated her teeth, she still needs more intensive work done. Delta Dawn is not healthy enough for that right now, so Dr. Art said that had to wait for a couple of months, as do any vaccines.

Linda R. is now removing Delta Dawn's fly mask, so Dr. Art can check her eyes, Thankfully they were okay!
This pic shows her injured back leg.

& this one shows just how difficult it is for her to turn around :[ I must say,,,,,, that I ,,,,,,,,(personally),,,,,, am very worried about her falling down!!!! BUT, she showed me today that she is gonna be okay! When I helped to feed her tonight, the bowl for her Mush, was on a downward slant & she handled that very well,,,,,,,,but I still moved it, to more level ground, even tho, it meant she had to turn around.........which she did very NICELY, & SAFELY! (whew)

Today she was very alert........WHOOPEE....... Cori reported that she even nickered for her breakfast!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH.

The vet has left & Linda R. put out some shavings for Delta Dawn to lay down in, in the shade. So Linda made up a small 'lunch' for her, to entice her to the shavings pile. Here she is following Linda R.

Linda R. put done her 'lite lunch' & showed her the shavings!

& with an x-tra 'pat' for the old girl, we let her have some peace & quiet.

Dr. Art, has known Linda R. for quite a few years now, &&&&&&&...... after examining Delta Dawn,,,,,,,,,he told Linda R. to; "just do what you do" quote and unquote ! He has full confidence in Linda's knowledge on how to take care of these emaciated horses, that come into her care.......she is 'gifted' when it comes to taking care of these beauties!
It has been a loooong day, so will say "Bye for now"
Linda C.

Lovie.....a former emaciated horse @ Safe Haven

The bay in this picture is Lovie, she is a T/B, who came into Safe Haven, in just about the same condition as our Delta Dawn! I put this picture first, so you all can see her now. This was taken on Labor Day 2009, at Anderson River Park. Holly (her adopted Mom) & Lovie have a very special bond. Look at that pretty butt! This pic was taken within an hour of Lovie arriving at Safe Haven. The people who brought her, dropped her off, & couldn't get out of there fast enough!
This is a shot of her tail bone! This poor baby girl, was beat up & very dirty when she arrived. Bonnie & Sandy gave her a bath right away. The former owners said, that their farrier said, that Lovie did not have enough teeth to eat hay. Well......after her bath, we gave her a little hay & I remember all of us squatting down close to her & we could hear her teeth chewing up those 'groceries' just fine! Linda R. recorded that Lovie did NOT poop for 12 hours after she came in!& we all know that is a serious thing! No GROCERIES= No POOP!!!!! As someone said on the ABR board for Delta Dawn........GRRRRRRR.....

Lovie loves to roll in the sand in the arena, some times she can't make up her mind......as to wether she wants to run or roll first!!!

The vet is coming out to Safe Haven today......to see Delta Dawn .....Candy....& Drifter, so I must get it in gear. Just wanted to show you, Lovie & tell you about her success her story.
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Emaciated Mare arrives @ Safe Haven Horse Rescue!

This horse was brought into Safe Haven, yesterday Sept 16th 2009. She was brought up from Glen county, by a gentleman, who came home to find her in one of his horse pens!!!!!! Who ever left her, also left some hay, and the gentleman said that it wasn't even good enough to feed to cows!, it was all full of star thistle! The family, in Glen cty. called her Rescue Dawn, after a gal in a movie......that was a little hard 'rolling' off the tongue........ so, I changed it Delta Dawn, for now.
This is the condition of this poor baby girl, AFTER.......a month on good hay!!!! & the gentleman, also floated her teeth!!!! Can you imagine the condition he recieved her in???? GOOD GOD! why didn't they give her away BEFORE she was in this condition?

This pic really shows what I now call 'the tea cup syndrome' as I truly believe that you could put a cup & saucer on the top of that rib cage & it would stay there :[ :[

What a sad, sad, past this poor girl has endured!

Linda R. is giving her a betadine bath, as she had some 'fungus amongus.' She has an injury on her back leg, the guy said she probably got hung up in a fence, & that it was alot better now, not as swollen.

She is enjoying her bath & looks like she is taking a little nap in the sun!

She is gonna be a beautiful horse again, someday, (give Linda & her mush a few months )

You can tell that feels soooooooo......good! I think she "says a little to the left please!"

Linda is rinsing her off now & will wash her face. She is quite use to a bath, as she stood very still, & didn't spook at anything ( not like she has the strength!!!!!) These are very hard pics to see..........the unkindness that humans inflict on poor innocent animals.....it really rips your guts open!!

BUT, take heart in knowing that this baby girl is on the mend!!!! Safe Haven Horse Rescue w/ Linda R. & her 'village' of dedicated volunteers, will have her back to being a healthy horse in a few short /long months! Dr. Art is coming out to recheck on Drifter's eye, & Candy's eyes tomorrow, so we will have him access Delta Dawn too. I'll keep ya posted on that!
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Linda C's Girls!

This is my youngest Granddaughter, Lindsy, & her Mom, (my daughter, Chris) leading Song up to the hitching post so Lindsy can ride! Lindsy is 3 3/4 years old, & Song is in her 30's! Isn't that the cutest pic ever? Lindsy knows that before you can ride, you must brush your horse & clean their feet. Mom is giving her a helping hand.
All the grooming is done & Lindsy is mounted & riding!

Samantha took over the task of leading Song, so Lindsy could ride. Thank You, Sam :}! We're all happy to help each other @ Safe Haven!

Lindsy, Sam, & Song, took a little break in the shade, as cheerful to scoop poop, Cori, was headed to Zipper's pen!

The happiness on this beautiful face, is a testimony, of the joys that await you at Safe Haven Horse Rescue! The horses, the people, & the comraderie is a thing of beauty! You can share in that, by coming out to volunteer some of your time too! We always can use an x-tra pair of hands!

This is my teenage Granddaughter, Lydia. Lydia is riding Gracie in the arena, & is giving her a 'tune-up' so to say! She is putting Gracie thru her paces. I missed taking pics of the crow hop & the double barrel-kick @ nothing, darn it!

So proud of Lydia, as she took all the 'scary' behavior in stride & didn't let Gracie get away with it! GOOD JOB! Gracie is a very good horse, it's just that she has 'pulled' a few stunts on her young owner, so she needed to be reminded that she needs to mind! Another example of helping each other when there is a need!

These last few pics, are my 'new' picture taking techniques...........I take pics w/ my phone...& it's slow....so I click the shutter right before the moving 'target' gets in the frame & it sure seemed to work w/ a fast moving subject!!!!! & than I get a surprise too, when I see it's a useable pic! LOL!

Cathy is on Rumtata, & she is having her hands full too! Must have been the nice weather we had on last Sat.! Cathy & Lydia took the two, on a trail ride after the arena riding, & all came back just fine, tired, but happy!

Here's our not so little anymore.....Lizzie Anne.........she says "here's looking at you kids. Bye for now, & come see me soon!"

So I'll say............ Happy Trails until we meet again!!!!!
Linda C.

Spending a day w/ Linda R. & Safe Haven

Last Friday, Sept. 4th 2009, I went w/ Linda Richards as she did a few 'chores' for Safe Horse Rescue. We had to take Grandpa Hank & Sylvester to there new 'foster' home in Red Bluff where Barbie lives. We had to deliver Micah to his new 'foster' home & then pick up a surprise! Here is Hank & Sylvester going into the pasture..............
Here is beautiful Barbie in all her 'bling' Look at how shiny & plump this "Diva" is! She was sharing her 'place w/ our old horse Cody, but the sad news is that Cody had to be put down as his knee wasn't working anymore & he just couldn't go on that way:( He will be missed very much. So.....Barbie told Barbara (her foster Mom) that she would like to have some company to share the pasture with!........ & Barbara called Linda R. to see who we could send her way, & they decided to send G. Hank & his buddy Sylvester. What lucky, lucky boys those two are!

Barbie decided to show Hank the whole pasture & led him to back gate, & then they both came back!

In the meantime, Sylvester thought that the baby goat was his long lost pal, & for a minute we thought he was gonna go thru the fence!!!!! That was a hold your breath moment! He was more eager than this pic shows......& for awhile he was 'charging' up & down the fence, looking for that little goat!!!!!! He was so focused on his task, that he was not paying any attention to any thing or anybody, so I found myself hugging the telephone pole that was in the pasture (for dear life) waiting for him to settle down!!! That, he did, & here, is just lookin' around!

After the whole 'baby goat' thing, Hank & Sylvester decided to investigate the other side of the pasture & off they go!

This is Barbara's caretaker & his baby goat! He gave me a bunch of assorted peppers! Very nice!

Now Sylvester is just watchin' that baby goat!

Here's a close up of the baby goat!!!!!!!!!! Really cute!

We stayed until the 'boys' were comfy enough to check out the grass :) & then we continued on our way........We left Red Bluff & headed north to Anderson.......next stop......bringing Micah to Theresa........for Carley :]

Micah is meeting Theresa Dearman.........Dearman Pump.......for all your water pumping needs! They have been a very big sponsor for our Playday event!

Theresa thinks Micah is soooo handsome!

We opened the gate to the pasture........................ & off he went!!!! Nice big ole pasture & there is a pony out there for company! Micah pretty much ignored the little pony but a few days later they were hanging out together. Micah is in the pasture behind Bob's Market, where I work :]
When I showed up for work, on Sun. My boss Sam said that he really liked Micah too!

Now that we had delivered Micah ........we were on our way again........this time to pick up the surprises!!!!!!!!!!

And here they are!!! Not these two, they are just some of their buddies.

Here's our new friends.......Petey, the light colored one & Betty, the dark one. They are very sweet, & it only took a little while to get them in the trailer!

So we arrive back at the ranch & Linda walked the llamas thru all the horses! Just so the horses would know what was up!

Jimmy is quite curious & was gonna come real close! Cherokee in the back was certainly alert!

I chose this pic, because Gracie has her head hanging outside her pen as if to say 'are you kidding me'!!!!!

Addy is right up to the fence lookin' at the llamas, but little Song took off for the very back of her pen!!!!!! She has an alley way behind her pen & she going to stay there. Song is the paint.

Zipper & DeeDee are watching too!
After walking the llamas we put them in the arena for the night & it was time to feed everybody!

This the vehicle we feed with & it is called The Zoom Zoom! It's loaded w/ 3 bales of hay all the mush buckets (on both sides) & then the 'dry buckets' in the front.

Also a few buckets of grain on top too.

So after we finished feeding & watering the horses, this is what we look for; HEADS DOWN & BUTTS UP!

Cuz that means everybody is eating & no one is sick.........whoo hoo.......

So, it was 10am when we started this day & it was well after six when we finished up all the chores! Quite the full day wouldn't say? Oh yeah, after we left Micah, we went & picked up 25 bags of Alfalfa pellets too! This is just one day in the life of Linda Richards, she is on the go seven days a week!

Bye for now,
Linda C.

Pics from Lynne Wilder @ Oak Wood Ranch

Here are pics of 'Bella' who is now Cotton Candy, & the other two horses that Lynne adopted from Safe Haven for her ranch, Moxley & Buddy. Linda Richards was traveling to Sac. yesterday & when she got to around Williams, she could see big smoke off in the direction of Upper Lake, where Lynne has her place! Linda called me (Linda C) so I could call Lynne & see if all was ok...........& Thank goodness.......everything was! The fire was 50 miles or so, south of Oak Wood! Any hoo......Lynne I chatted for awhile, & then Lynne sent these pics, so we could see how well our 'kids' are doin'! Lynne says she is working a bunch w/ Candy. She has been 'sacking' her out w/ a saddle blanket....&...at first, Candy thought she was gonna die!!!!! But....now she enjoys it so much....she falls asleep!!! That is just too funny & goes to show how a person can get a horse thru so many of it's issues! We're so happy that Lynne has Candy! This is Moxley! Lynne said he just 'fit' right in, & is quickly becoming a 'fav'! Way to go Moxley!

Now here we have Buddy, who came to Safe Haven, a bit under weight........Lynne says he's put on a good 65lbs now & they are lightly exercising him to help build up his muscles & to distribute his weight up on his topline, instead of just his belly...... Good plan, good job!
Lynne is planning to come up to Cottonwood for Safe Haven's Playday on Oct. 4th Whoo Hoo!It will great to see her & chit chat (about horses!) of course! Lynne is posting info about Safe Haven at her barn, so all who come to ride can be informed about us too! Awesome! Lynne learned of Safe Haven from her husband, who works w/ Denise's (lesson instructor)husband!!!! It's a small world as they say!
Hope you all have a great day!
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Babies out for a romp!

Saturday, Bonnie decided that the 'little ones' needed some time in the arena to 'romp' around! This should be the 2nd pic, but I think you all can figure it out! Dreamer is meeting Bonnie's beautiful Flower as she goes into the arena! Pic doesn't show it but she was doin' the mouth thing......that says don't hurt me I'm a baby!! Flower was real good but Bonnie took back to her pen, just to be on the safe side! Dreamer did need a little encouragement walking to the arena...hence...the butt rope......just to keep her going forward!
Dreamer was having such a good time that, we just had to put Reno & Shyanne out there too........even tho we knew it would take awhile to 'gather' them all back up!

Reno is being kind of stubborn here & is telling Lydia "I don't wanna" He did decide to go forward in the end tho!

Lyd finally turned him in a circle instead of trying to pull him!!!!!!!!! So they did reach the arena!

Look at them run!!!! Shyanne is the one turning here & she has quite the 'moves' She can turn & stop on a dime as they say!!!! All the horses were watching the babies run. That's Spunky in the background there!

They really wore their selves out, BUT, still it took awhile to 'catch them up' Dreamer was the first to "surrender", & then we caught Reno............but as you can see our little "Shyanne" has other thoughts on that subject!!!!!........LOL........

After all babies were 'secured' again...... Linda R brought out the new halters the had for them. This is Reno gettin' his handsome black one........he is lighter in color, so we thought the black one would be better on him :) By the look on his face, he just can't figure out why he has to go thru all this........... Fussing!

Dreamer looks very pretty in her pink halter....don't ya think?

All the 'babes' got their new halters & our little Shyanne is also.....camera shy OR she is sending some other kind of message! as she wouldn't turn towards the camera!!!!!! LOL!

We are all very happy to see the condition of the babies getting much better! Look at how shiny their coats are getting..........amazing what some good 'groceries' can do! .... Finally all were back in their pens w/ their fly masks on..........& it was time for a little X-tra........TLC......& Bonnie gave Dreamer a real good "butt" rub!!!!

She is certainly enjoying that!! Look at her lips.....I missed the pic were she was biting the pen, she was sooooooo happy!!!!!!

We all had such fun w/ the babies..........they had fun & learned a few things too! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Bye for now,
Linda C.
