Excessorized in her 'Hello Kitty' stickers for her B-day!

Excessorized, with Hello Kitty stickers on her halter celebrates her Birthday at Safe Haven Horse Rescue on May 22nd, 2010! She asked me, Will there be CAKE??? I told her all in do time, my Dear! So! We had Lynne B. on the phone, we all sang her Happy Birthday, & read her the poem Lynne wrote & then...........................
THERE WAS CAKE!!!!! YIPPEEEE....................!!!!!!!!!!!!! Miss Sandy P. presented the Carrot cake to Excessorized, & she thought the cake was very cute! & that it smelled pretty good!
She even tried the frosting first! But as all good plans can go array...... Excessorized did not like the cake!!!
So her Mom to be Holly, took the cake & offered it to Sessie.....................No Go! So we thought we should just offer this Diva a slice, as maybe she didn't to ruin the pretty cake!
So a slice of the yummy carrot cake was offered to her, But!
She took a bite from Holly && then preceded to spit it out!!!!! OY VEY "/
When we told her she was so CUTE with all that frosting on her lips..........................
She used the ground to clean off her muzzle!!!!! TOO CUTE!!! WHAT A BRAT!!!!!!!
So, we all ate the cake for her!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!! Goes to show, ya just never know what they're gonna do next!!!!! Got to LOVE 'EM!!!!!!! After all the celebrating of Excessorized's B-day, we had an addressing party to send out a gazillion invitations for The Love of Horses, wine tasting & dinner fundraiser on Saturday, June 12th, at the Hilton Hotel, in conjunction with the Western States Horse Expo!!!! &&&& in the Barns by Harrah Pavilion..........there will be a HUGE SURPRISE FOR YOU TO GREET!!!!!! Lynne B. writes Excessorized a Poem for her B-day!

ON THIS DAY IN TWO-THOUSAND AND FIVE.....

A MARE SAID, "OH! MAN ALIVE! I THINK IT IS TIME FOR MY BABE TO ARRIVE!"

AS SHE LAY ON THE GROUND WITH FOLKS ALL AROUND...

THERE CAME A NEW FILLY TO DELIGHT AND SURPRISE

AND THE FILLY'S NAME WOULD BECOME *EXCESSORIZED*

THIS FILLY HAD ROYALTY LINES IN HER BLOOD...NOT WITH SUCH THINGS AS A SPUR OR A LARIAT...

BUT A HORSE BY THE NAME OF *SECRETARIAT*

SHE GREW AND SHE GREW AND A GOOD GIRL SHE BECAME

BUT IN TIME ALL WHO KNEW HER, SAID RACING WASN'T HER GAME..

SHE WAS CAST ASIDE AND NEARLY FORGOTTEN...

UNTIL NICE PEOPLE CAME AND TOOK HER TO 'COTTON'...

wood that is:)

WHERE TODAY SHE LIVES THE LIFE ALL HORSES SHOULD..WHERE PEOPLE ALL LOVE AND RESPECT HER AND CARE.

SHE'S HAVING A PARTY WITH CAKE AND A SONG...THEY'RE HAVING A *DO*..

AND *BIG RED* is smiling for his GRANDDAUGHTER TIMES TWO!

HAPPY, HAPPY DAY, *SESSIE* ..... xoxo Aunty Lynne and ALL the FOBS LOVE YOU!!

THANKS for this AWESOME POEM LYNNE!!! YOU ROCK!

THANK YOU!!! DR. MARTA!!!

All the horses are getting their 4-Way, & West Nile shots, from Dr. Marta! She volunteers her time to Safe Haven Horse Rescue, when she can!!! She ROCKS!!! Here's ole Booger getting his first shot! One shot one side......
Second shot, the other side!!!! Tracey is smiling so ya know he did good!!! Booger, has been adopted by Bonnie. She likes her horses big & this Quarter Horse Gelding is 16.1 hands!!!! I'd say that's a pretty good size horse!!! Wouldn't you?
On we went to do the Minis that still needed to be done, & it was Buckin' Buttercups turn!! & of course I missed it when she reared!!! & got a pic when she looks like an angel!!! LOL! Let's see how Tootsie does....................
Not well!!!! Look at those eyes!!! I was quite happy to see I had captured her mane just a blowing!!! It was very windy here today & we managed to feed without getting rained on! Yeah!
Oh Boy! Rodeo!!! Dr. Marta calls this a 'fly by' shot giving!!!!!! Do it quick & MOVE!
This is Bailey, a kill pen rescue, Tracey just loves her Bailey!! Bailey was quite good for her shots!
Second side!
Sierra the little Paso Fino, that Lucretia adopted is next, & then it's Lu's other adopted boy Amigo's turn. Amigo was in too much shade so I did not get his picture. Sierra was very good for her shots. Nice!
After the shots were over, 'Mom' went in to give pats & 'good girls' to her mare! Good Job!
OK, now it is time for Daisey Mae, a recent newbie at Safe Haven. She came in from Red Bluff Animal Control a few weeks ago. She's pretty FOOD aggressive we have found out!
But she handled getting her vaccinations like a pro!
We did Dancer, Shady Lady, & Willow, but again too much shade for a see-able picture! So here is Billie getting his shots. He was good too.
Now it's Louie's turn! Tracey had to leave to go to work, so Barb, a new HARD WORKING Volunteer took over!!! Since she started helping out at Safe Haven, I don't think she's missed a day!!!! Louie is an Arabian & has only been at Safe Haven for 2/3 weeks.
His former owners said he was about 4, but Linda looked at his teeth awhile ago, & she predicted 12, & so Dr. Marta checks his teeth & she agrees!
All the horses got their vaccinations, but I was only, at Safe Haven today, when they were finishing up the last few. Tomorrow is SATURDAY!!!!! Someone is having a Birthday & we're having CAKE! YOU should come out to Safe Haven & do some volunteering, & have some CAKE!!! Melissa is going to make a nice one!!! Hope to see you tomorrow!
Bye for now,
Linda C.

Lydia was awesome! She groomed the mini's we took, & was a fountain of information all about Safe Haven Horse Rescue! We also saved all the hair we got off the two & are planning on sending it to help w/ the clean up of the oil on the Emerald Coast! You can sign up to help too!!!! Go to; www.matterof trust.org they are asking for any type of hair, wool, & nylons!!! Please jump on board to help!!!

Our FOB, Bobcinpa, found this out about Owen;

OWEN (aka POWERMETOGLORY) has PRINCEQUILLO, the greatest turf sire ever, in his pedigree as did JOHN HENRY.

OWEN also has ROUND TABLE, considered by many to be the best turf runner in history.

Like JH, was born in early March, and is a dk bay gelding. Definitely a neat horse.

Bob C. in Pa. is THE John Henry AFICIONADO of all times!!!! He was Very excited to learn that Owen's pedigree showed Princequillo & Round Table also!!!!
SO! Just how cool is that?????? Lynette will be thrilled to read & know all this about her boy But the bestest thrill of all is; Owen is HERS!!!!!

Owen has a new MOM!!!!

Owen's new Mom is Lynette!!! Lynette & her husband Craig, came out to find Lynette a horse so they could ride together! Lynette looked at all the horses we have up for adoption, & she chose Owen!!! Good choice!!! What a kind & gentle face!
Owen was brought to Safe Haven by the Glenn County Animal Control, with a little bay mare called Katrina. They both needed some weight & Owen had a bowed tendon on the right front. Bonnie took Owen under her wing & got him a special supplement for his tendon & after wrapping & care, & Linda R's feeding program, he is doing just great!!!

Lynette is leaving Owen at the Safe Haven, only until this Saturday, so she can ride him in the arena & they can get to know each other before he goes to his new home &, meets his new Tenneesee Walker horsey friend!
This is actually the first picture I took of Owen & Lynette, but just had to get a closer pic of them! Really glad I did!
Safe Haven Horse Rescue still has a very nice T/B mare called Shady Lady that is up for adoption.........SO..............if you're in the market for a nice T/B Bay Mare, come on out & check her out!!! She looks a lot like Owen!
Bye for now,
Linda C.
