Happy New Year!..... 2010!

Lisa C. (Romeo's adopted Mom,) had a photo op with our social butterfly of the day, Red! He was everywhere on Friday, Jan 1st! He 'helped' Lisa take care of Romeo at the hitching post, supervised the kids over by the tack shed, & was in general the 'good buddy' of the day! After all that 'cruising' around his blanket was a little off, so Linda R. (always the perfectionist) had to adjust the front straps to her liking!

Red is a lesson horse & is just the sweetest old guy! He is one of the favs of the adults too! Poor guy got to take me on a trail ride awhile back! WE had a GREAT time!

He was telling Lisa all about how he LOVES to weave poles! & let me tell you -ya better hang on- as this ole boy will fly thru them!!! Just ask Sandy P. She was the first adult to do the poles on him & he surprised us all w/ his enthusiasm & speed! Good thing she knows how to ride! What makes him an excellent lesson horse is that he will not go that fast when a child is on him doing the poles!!!
Buck, is another good ole boy, & he came in w/ Red. They are two retired cow ponies. Buck has had
alot of problems w/ his front feet, & is retired from any riding. So he's another 'helper'! Little

Lizzie Anne was watching Linda adjust Red's blanket &&&& ............
&..thought she should work on Buck's too!!!

So she pulled & pulled, trying to make the blanket more comfy for Buck! Oh Lizzie! Don't pull it off!!!
It does not belong in your pen!Okay, she says & asks, for her picture to be taken too!

Lizzie Anne is just the cutest girl ever! She is getting to be a 'handfull' as they say! Since she is in her 'teenage phase' not just anyone can take her out of her pen! Safe Haven's Bonnie, is the one who is giving her some 'manners' & lessons on how to walk on the lead withOUT rearing, prancing, & just general fussing around!

Well. Peeps. it's Saturday! & time to go horse around!!!!! Hope to see you out at Safe Haven Horse Rescue TODAY!!!!! You'll have lots of fun!!! & will help out the horses too! I will 'build' a fire to help you warm up!! That right there is fun!
